Yaqoob’s Story

CAMPAIGN PERIOD: 10-16 OCT 2021

Due to persecutions in his home country of Pakistan, Yaqoob Masih and his family found refuge in Malaysia. Sadly, Yaqoob’s wife passed away two years ago before their arrival to Malaysia and he does not have a valid UN identification due to the prolonged lockdowns and restrictions. It has been extremely difficult to find jobs.

Every two months, his son sends some financial support from overseas, and his daughter Maria has a data entry job but is infrequent. Their food catering business is not doing well and has been relying on a community that provides some financial care, food baskets and provisions.

Yaqoob and his family are thankful for every assistance they receive and are humbled with Malaysian compassion. Financial aid, Yaqoob confessed, would be most critical for him and his two daughters right now.

Yaqoob received a total of RM5850 from the week-long campaign.
