CAMPAIGN PERIOD: 5-11 OCT 2021
With six children to care for, Puspavallli manages as best as she can as a single mother. Her husband had abandoned the family and does not support in any way. She cleaned houses for a living, but the pandemic affected her income. She then resorted to becoming a security guard but contracted COVID and infected her children too. Thankfully, all have recovered. Puspavallli is diabetic and has a Thyroid problem.
Puspavallli is constantly looking for work and receives RM450 from the Welfare Department. Their rent is due since June and the landlord has given her notice to vacate. Kind-hearted people are donating food to her family.
Faced with surmounting challenges posed by the pandemic and her personal struggles, Puspavallli has not given up and carries on. Nevertheless, she faces the grim reality of being evicted and having to pay many bills without relief.
Puspavallli received a total of RM18,082 over the duration of the campaign.
