Noor Faizun is a single mother who cares for three children. She was forced to pay off her husband’s debts when he left the family in 2006. Her eldest son is studying, and her younger two children have recently been laid off work.
She had been running a trading and tourism business but due to the movement restrictions, she suffered losses and many clients have yet to pay her. With the prolonged restrictions, Faizun had resorted to cooking from home, but the earnings are quite low.
Noor was treated for cervical cancer in 2019 and her doctors advised her against stresses that might cause a relapse, but she admits her situation is very stressful. Being the sole earner for the family, the income has been drastically reduced but the debt and expenses remain.
Through the Gift10 campaign, Noor received a total of RM18,568 from generous donors.
