CAMPAIGN PERIOD: 18-24 SEP 2021
Joey Wong is a single mother who lives with her 8-year-old son in a rented room. Before the pandemic, Joey had a small manicure and pedicure business but was forced to stop. She then became a waitress but did not continue fearing she might put her son at risk.
Life has been hard for her, and she had to fly the White Flag. Friends and a charitable organisation have been providing food aid. Her savings and KWSP withdrawals are nearly exhausted to pay for living expenses.
Though she is very grateful for all the aid she has been receiving, Joey feels she must work because she is able to and living on aid alone is not right. Her goal is to be a role model to her son.
Through the week-long campaign, Joey received a total of RM43,909. Every contribution will help Joey to sustain herself and provide for her son Enthan as well as helping to restart her business.
