CAMPAIGN PERIOD: 1-10 MAY 2021
The GIFT10 team identified a family in April 2021 that needed help. Jakatesvari and her husband Shoban have 4 kids ranging from 3 months to their oldest at 8 years old.
Sadly, they were severely affected by the pandemic and both have lost their salaried jobs. Things got worse from there and they were forced to move out of their rented house as they couldn’t pay rent. All 6 of them are now staying with Shoban’s mother in Shah Alam and both husband and wife are now petty traders at a Pasar Malam using borrowed money. In addition, Shoban works as a food delivery service to supplement their household income but after an accident, he needed a new motorbike to continue doing so. With no stable income and mounting expenses, the future looked bleak for this precious family.
We ran a fundraising campaign and raised a total of RM17,976 within 10 days.
