Devagi and her husband Gobu met with a major accident in December 2020. Devagi sustained multiple broken bones in her hands, legs, jaw, and cervical ribs and had undergone 30 surgeries so far. She is bedridden. Gobu sustained broken bones in both hands and is unable to use his hands as before, his employer has asked him to go on unpaid leave. They have no income.
Gobu takes care of Devagi by himself and gets no help. They live on the EPF i-Sinar and received limited assistance from the ADUN and are still waiting for assistance from the Welfare Department. Devagi’s daily wound dressing cost them a fair bit. Loans under their names are currently under the moratorium stage.
Through this campaign, Devagi received a total of RM41,590.
