CAMPAIGN PERIOD: 12-18 JUNE 2021
Assunta Mary and her husband David Aruldass make a living by selling recyclable items. MCO has prevented them to do any work and thus cannot provide for the family as before. Among their three children, the eldest son who’s 21 and their second daughter aged 19 have learning difficulties. Both are registered with the Welfare Department and hold OKU ID cards.
The GIFT10 team has sighted hospital cards detailing the many appointments the children have, including a kidney disease the eldest son is being treated for.
The family usually earn around RM400 monthly and receive RM300 from the Welfare Department, but they are now living solely on government aid. They also receive groceries from a nearby church and Mary brings in some income by cooking.
Given the loss of earnings and the disabled children Mary and David are caring for, we at GIFT10 are moved to highlight this case.
“I want to say thank you to all the GIFT10 volunteers and donors for helping me when I was in a tough situation. I have not seen all of you, but I know one GIFT10 volunteer and she still contacts me to chat and find out how I’m doing. You are all such a gift from God to me. God bless you always my dear friends”
