Our Story
The journey of GIFT10 began in the month of April 2020, when the Movement Control Order (MCO) was first announced in Malaysia, due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Many people were losing their jobs and were struggling to live normal, everyday lives.
GIFT10 stemmed from its Co-Founder, Datuk Paul’s passion to help those individuals and families who were going through financial crisis. That’s when we started working as a team to identify deserving families who could benefit from this campaign.
GIFT10 comprises volunteers from different walks of life who share the passion to help those in need.
Our first candidate, Radhiga Ramu
Radhiga Ramu was the first Gift10 beneficiary. Both Radhiga and her husband had lost their jobs due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. They were struggling to make ends meet and were on the verge of being forced to move out of their home as they were not able to pay their house rent. The financial difficulty they were going through caused a rift in their marriage which led the couple to depression.
They had nowhere to go, and nobody to turn to. Right at that critical time, that they came in contact with GIFT10. Upon validating their story, the GIFT10 team decided to launch the campaign for Radhiga’s family. Through this campaign, Radhiga’s family received a total amount of RM2,050.00. With that money, they managed to pay off the outstanding house rental and put food on their table. They were truly grateful for every contributor for having helped them during this most crucial time.
How they are doing today
The ripple effect of that Gift10 campaign extended beyond their financial predicament as it gave them hope, knowing that they were not alone in the midst of a very trying time. Radhiga and her husband have returned to work and are now stable financially. Their relationship has been restored and they are very grateful to God for the blessing that they received through the GIFT10 campaign.
