San’s Story

CAMPAIGN PERIOD: 18-24 MAY 2022

49-year-old San Sanangan is from Tuaran Sabah, and lives with his wife Maryanty, a 41-year-old homemaker. Their sons Mohd Nizam, 16 and nine-year-old Haziq are in boarding school and studying at a school near their home, respectively.

San who up to recently earned his living as a handyman of the kampung was devastated to learn that he was suffering from Spinal Tuberculosis that is destroying and consequently collapsing his vertebrae. This has rendered him paralysed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair. 

San and his family is facing a bleak future as all their savings have been depleted and are in urgent need of financial assistance. He diligently goes for his orthopaedic appointments at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Kota Kinabalu beginning in January this year.
